P90x-Week 1

The above is a picture of me before p90x, i know not the best, but its a start. Lets hope in 90 days i can burn that fat. Its gonna be tough!

Before I started p90x I was very skeptical. There are so many quick fixes to diet and exercise. All you have to do is turn to your favorite t.v show and during breaks there you'll see so many adds for quick exercises. From the silly electric ab workout to the push wheel, there are too many modern exercises that do not work. In order for a person to become healthy, you have to eat right, and yes actual work out! This is why p90x is right for anyone who wants to get in the best shape of their lives.

If you are like me, after high school (the supposed best shape of your life years), you have spent the past few years eating enormous amounts and not working out. most guys during college get a keg belly, well i like to think of my belly being composed to all the dough I have eaten from pizza. Gross yes, but unfortunately true.

So far I have completed the first week of p90x, and all i have to say is, WOW. Up until graduating high school, i pretty much played sports and worked out every day of my life and let me tell you I have never had such an intense and effective workout in my life. From day 1 doing push ups and pull ups to today, p90x keeps your working hard and eating right.

Along with a strict 90 schedule built in three phases aimed at confusing your muscles so you don't plateau, p90x also creates strict nutritional schedule allowing you to feed your muscles the right nutrients it needs to lose weight but also energize. Unfortunately, i do not have the means to follow this nutritional schedule but we all know whats healthy and whats not, so i am trying to continue to eat well. I also am taking a multivitamin and whey protein instead of taking their recovery drink and protein bars.

Week 1 was very hard, every day was something new. By Saturday, my body was feeling the heat, but it was great. I still had felt Mondays workout on Sunday, and that has never happened to me before.

Today is day 10 and was plyometrics, this is a great workout because it is a non stop cardio/strength building workout that uses your own weight to burn fat.

After every 10 days I will make another post. It is my hope that whoever reads this will do what i do and give p90x a chance. whether wanting to get back into shape or improving your workouts p90x is for anyone. Just know that before you start p90x you should be at a fitness level that will allow you to perform these activities without getting hurt. if you cannot there is a dvd called slim in 6 that will get your ready for p90x.

Good luck and feel free to respond.
